December 2nd, 2025, Changchun, China – Gpixel is pleased to announce the release of the GSPRINT2001BSI, the sixth addition to its well-regarded GSPRINT series of high-speed global shutter CMOS image sensors. This new model is a 1.3-megapixel imager equipped with 20 µm pixels, delivering a frame rate of 6400 fps, a minimum exposure of 150 ns, and a minimum inter-frame interval of 250 ns. The GSPRINT2001BSI offers a resolution of 1280 (H) x 1024 (V) pixels, each measuring 20 µm square, resulting in an image diagonal of 32.8 mm.

With backside illumination (BSI) technology, the sensor delivers high QE in VIS, NIR as well as UV —87% at 440 nm and 42% at 260 nm. Its pixel design enhances signal-to-noise ratio under ultra-low light, ideal for such imaging. The GSPRINT2001BSI offers a 12 ke‾ full well capacity, 19 e‾ read noise, and a 56 dB dynamic range at full speed.

In addition to excellent sensitivity, the pixel is optimized for ultra-fast gating with an inter-frame interval of just 250 ns and minimum exposure time of 150 ns, making it ideal for scientific uses such as Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV).
Image data is digitized by an on-chip 10 bit ADC and read out via 64 sub-LVDS channels operating at 1.4 Gbps each for a maximum data rate of 89.6 Gbps. Subsampling and ROI support allow higher frame rates. For applications in which the maximum frame rate is not required, multiplexing modes are available to reduce the number out output channels to 32 or 16 lanes. The sensor consumes 7.5 W when operating at full resolution and maximum frame rate. An on-chip digital temperature sensor is integrated and a wide operating temperature range of -10°C to +85°C is supported.

The GSPRINT2001BSI is offered in both monochrome and color versions, featuring sealed cover glass options of industry-standard D263-T™ or quartz glass to extend UV spectrum capabilities. It is assembled in a 720 pins µPGA package with dimensions of 41 mm by 42 mm.
Samples and evaluation systems are available now.
